Status & Notes:
Alright, starting out today by letting you know that we will be indeed continuing on today with FF X, so yay. Now that that's out of the way, just want to talk a little bit about my race series that I'm working on here. I'm going to do a day for each of the five races and then a couple days talking about some of the final setups I'll be using down the road... so with that out of the way, lets get onto today's race.

Today we will be talking about the Viera. The viera's tree is an interesting one as it is the only tree that has 3 different levels of classes. On top of that, it really has 3 distinct branches as well with Fencing, Magic and Archery. They are the only race that can learn Dualcast as well as summoning which is some of the best AoE spells in the game. They also get access to Assassin, which is hands down one of the best classes in the game, period. Well, let's get started.

First let's talk about the Fencing branch of the game. The Viera prefer using foils as their swords of choice. The base fencer class gains a large variety of attacks, including a ranged attack, a mp lowering attack, etc. The second level of this tree is the Red Mage tree. The red mage equips swords making them better physical fighters than most white/black mages but only learn the basic spells of each. Their best spell is probably barrier which acts as protect/shell. the real reason for red mages though is that they can learn doublecast. The final class in this branch is the Elementalist. Again, kind of a mage/fighter hybrid, the elementalist learns some spells that do small damage but inflict various debuffs as well, one of the more useful support classes in the game, especially with doublecast.

The second branch for the viera is the magic branch. The base class here is the white mage and learn the same white magic spells as the human and nu mou counterparts. As always, the white mage is an excellent support class. The second class, which also requires using the Elementalist to unlock is the Summoner. The summoner casts magic with a radius of 2. There are both white magic summons to heal and heal ailments and even revive multiple people. As well as black magic summons to take out multiple enemies.

Now lets move onto the archery class. The base class is archer which is exactly the same as the human counterpart, focusing on ranged debuffs and bow use. The thing with the vieras though is that the elementalist does a far better job as a ranged debuffer with the only exception of having access to boost maybe and not requiring mp, really though you're better off just passing through archer to sniper. Snipers can do heavy ranged damage with greatbows. Their skills are focused on bow use and have the abilities to destroy someone's weapon and armor. The final Viera class is the Assassin class. Assassins require knowledge of both sniper and elementalist to unlock. Assassins can apply some of the most useful debuffs in the game including Stop, Addle, and Petrify as well as being able to instantly KO people. They can use both Katanas and Greatbows making them very strong as well.
