Stuff Did Today (FF X-2): Almost finished up with all the new Creature Creator monsters from Chapter 2. And played the FLAN MAKING MINI-GAME!!!

Stuff Did Today(Dissidia): None

Status & Notes:

So, we're almost done with the Creature Creator monsters unique to Chapter 2. I have all of 2 left... and the only reason I didn't finish this was because it was taking me forever to come up the Trap Pod L I needed for them... its Rukh and Guardian Beast I need to finish by the way... seriously, the drop rate on the L is way too low... I probably won the Standard Cup about 6 times before I had one drop... and I needed two... the one good thing to come out of this was that I was randomly doing Standard Cup: Hard with my makeshift team of YUC-28 and Flan Blanco... and I managed to win once and unlock Grand Cup... so yay... but now really its just a quick couple of monsters to level up and then back onto the quest... Probably at the end of Chapter 2 I'll actually try and clear out the cups a bit more. By then I should have some really good accessories to give and probably some better Sphere Grids as well (yeah yeah yeah, I know the monkey one I missed).

Talking a little bit about the Flan Amarillo mini-game... man is it touchy. The speed you have to press the buttons for the second ingredient is ridiculous... I've managed to get both of the "good" flans... the 3 mini ones and the Hot flan... but I haven't gotten the Perfect Flan yet... its kind of fun though, I guess

However, today I expect to be mostly a Dissidia day. Here, I may actually try something a little different! Yes, my main focus will be to 100% Chapter 2 of Shade Impulse, but as I said yesterday, I will get the last Stiltzkin Friend Card today, so I would like to take the time to Battlegen the different color gems to get rid of those achievements, as I'm actually going to have to focus on some of these very soon to get things done.

But, as always, we will see how it goes.

  1. Are you using the creatures you're leveling up for fiend tales to try and win cups? In my experience that doesn't work out too well :(

You kind of need a dedicated team put aside for that. I gave some suggestions for good creatures before: Chocobo, Tonberry, Goon, any Elemental. You generally want to go with 3 S creatures, no M or L size. More targets to disperse damage, more attacks outgoing, more opportunities for stunlocking the enemies and less chance to get stunlocked yourself, more move slots total between your party.

Also you WILL have to start pumping up your creatures stats with items/accessories if you want to win cups consistently. Probably best to focus on HP and defenses first. Having the dedicated team allows you to focus your funds on just those creatures, and also they will be gaining more levels since you use them to win all the cups. Since damage formulas in this game are highly dependent on level, the higher you can get your team, the better your strong moves will be.

  2. Currently, yes, but only because I'm still so early in the game and I figure its going to be easier to just recatch them when my party is higher level than trying to level them separately. I figure by the end of Chapter 2ish I should have enough levels that I can put together a decent starting team. Making money and accessories to level up everyone is not difficult at all. Anyway, my main focus right now is still just unlocking all the Bestiary entries which takes long enough as is

    1. Well ok, just be careful because some creatures leave their normal area in later chapters and can only be caught in Luca at that point. The problem with that is, it's gonna be pretty random. If there's a specific creature you want and it's not available elsewhere, you might have a hard time finding it again. I know Goon in particular disappears pretty early.

I never felt like leveling was a problem in Creature Create. You get matchups that give way more experience than you can get in the normal game, and once you fight them once you can fight them whenever you want. Hellbreeders in particular is the best for EXP for quite a long time, and it's a pretty easy fight with a few good abilities. Just fight them repeatedly for 10-15 minutes and you can have a team of 3 creatures to like the 50s before you know it. In fact it would be easier to level up your other creatures for their fiend tales like this as well, except you might only have to fight them 2-3 times or so. An easier fight that gives less EXP but is more manageable for any creature would be Black Chandelier (I think that's the name), it's just 1 Dark Elemental with low HP, so you should be able to take it out with most anything.
