Where I Currently Am(FF X-2): Chapter 2 (33% Complete, Bestiary 39% Complete)

Where I Currently Am(Dissidia): Getting 100% in all of Shade Impulse Chapters

Stuff Did Today (FF X-2): Picked up Calli and Clasko from the Mi'ihen Travel Agency... and headed straight for the Calm Lands. Here, I dropped Clasko off, who decided to take over the Monster Arena which is now empty... except for lots of fiends left inside! Here, there were lots of stalls that were filled... with illusions... except for one and the illusions like to look at the real monster. So... we found all the real monsters and took them out. Clasko then taught us how to catch Chocobos... because he's lazy.

Next, we headed over to the Thunder Plains where some Al Bhed were tinkering with the lightning towers, trying to get them calibrated. We decided to help out and so far have helped out with the first 6... the last 4 can't be that bad can they? Can they?!!?

Stuff Did Today(Dissidia): Finally got around to getting 100% in Chapter 2 of Shade Impulse.

Status & Notes:

First couple game overs of FF X-2 today... Queen Coeurls are annoying... or at least instadeath is. Also, luckily I didn't end up with an Oversouled Blue Elemental... those can be rather annoying. So, after happily getting through that section of the game... I came to the Lightning Towers... ugh, the lightning towers... Here, I actually prefer playing the game on my laptop screen rather than my 55-inch TV. Why, you ask? Well, simple. When you're dealing with quicktime events predicated on absolute split-second timing, I want to spend as little time as possible looking for the picture of the button I'm going to need to push, and since its completely random where they are going to appear, yeah, having a smaller screen actually helps. This really doesn't apply to most of them... however, Tower 7 may be the most difficult mini-game in all of X-2... the muscle memory you need to develop along with the hand eye coordination is absolutely annoying., I've practiced this one for about 45 minutes so far and have gotten up to 28 correct a few times... most of the time I get to 25 and just crash. I will complete all these towers though... oh yes I will.

Over in Dissidia, I finally was able to take some time to go through Chapter 2 of Shade Impulse and get it to 100%. Really not much to say about that... one chapter to go, and we can start moving on to finishing up some accomplishments.

Which brings us to today. I'm not really planning on having time to get any X-2 done today, so hopefully I'll be able to get the last chapter of Shade Impulse to 100%. We'll see how it goes

  1. You are a braver man than I when it comes to those lightning towers. They're all fairly manageable with a little luck and patience, except for 7 and 10. I completed all the easy ones, and miraculously got tower 7 done after many, many tries. Screw tower 10 though.

Honestly the prizes aren't really worth the effort though, especially in this version of the game. You can get all the best prizes much easier from Creature Create, and in unlimited quantities. Tower 10 gives a Ribbon; Dark Bahamut drops Ribbons. Much easier to beat up on Bahamut.

The real prize is the GG you get for attempting all 10 towers, the Samurai's Honor. Make sure you pick that one up!
