Where I Currently Am(Dissidia): Finishing up achievements!!! Currently in Lunar Whale Duel Colisseum

Stuff Did Today (FF X-2): We first returned to the Gaol machina and managed to very quickly procure the Bloodlust and Wring accessories... great. We then proceeded past the lifts and grabbed the almighty Dark Knight dresssphere. A little further down the way was Baralai, who wanted us not to touch Vegnagun. Paine wanted to painfully touch Baralai... so we fought... and won... so, we proceeded further, and found... an empty room. Vegnagun was gone... but surprise! Dark Bahamut!!! However, instead of having us be real good at counting to 5, this version of Dark Bahamut, just counts down from 5 to cast a really pitiful Mega Flare... sigh, how the mighty have fallen.

After beating up Dark Bahamut, Yuna was really depressed since she loves Aeons... but we had to do it. We were interrupted from our sadness by Brother and Buddy who tell us that fiends are coming out of ALL the temples.. great... oh yeah, Baralai and Nooj have gone missing as well...

So, instead of immediately tackling the dangerous fiends, we start by entering a Sphere Break tournament!!! This game is very simple, as long as a 1 doesn't come up as your target number... we quickly dispatched 3 vilagers to take on Shinra in the finals... Shinra never found his 1 sphere... so we beat him in like 7 turns. For winning, we scored the Lady Luck dresssphere, great for when you don't want to wear a lot of clothes.

We stopped by Mushroom Rock Road and found out the Youth League has taken care of the fiends there, but they'd really like it if we could look into Nooj's disappearance for us... so, next we headed to Guadosalam, where Leblanc is morose since Nooj is missing. Ormi and Logos had a sphere they thought might cheer her up so it was back into the depths of the hideout. We found another Crimson Sphere hidden there, and then Ormi and Logos showed us the footage they filmed in the Bevelle Undercroft... and in the distance we see Nooj walking off somewhere... we assume it has something to do with Vegnagun... and Ormi and Logos really don't want Leblanc to get involved... and she will if she knows Nooj is involved.

Oh there was another sphere as well. This one showed Tidus Clone locked up in Bevelle... and then Maechen appeared from nowhere. He doesn't think the resemblance is a coincidence and would like to talk to Tidus to clear this up... Yuna explains to him that Tidus was a dream of the fayth and Maechen has an epiphany!!! Which he quickly forgets before he can spit it out. Oh well...

Stuff Did Today(Dissidia): Finished up Inward Chaos, then started on a LONNNG run through Duel Colisseum... got half way through a 100-battle run to get all of the achievements from there done in one fell swoop... did I mention its really handy playing on an emulator???

Status & Notes:

As always let's start with the questions of the day... and a big shame on Live2Play for not checking out the Current Setup where we would see that Yuna is in fact using a Heady Perfume... which as far as I know could only have been retrieved by winning the massage game on the second try.

Let's move on to the Gaol machina puzzle. Another puzzle I wish was explained a little better... basically the goal is just to get yourself onto a couple platforms where awesome accessories lie... and I mean awesome... they basically give you enough power to handle everything through most of the rest of the game. The funny thing is, I think I've seen one walkthrough even try to explain how it works and get a pattern for the different layouts of the arms... most places just say its completely random and just work it out for yourself... which was the strategy I took this time, and amazingly I managed to get both accessories on my first 2 stops. Not really sure how I pulled that off, but great.

I wish there was more to talk about the Sphere Break game... its really a very shallow game. Yeah, I know you can get different coins which do... slightly different effects, but really, the game simply comes down to hoping your opponent doesn't pull a 1 for his sphere... then its just figuring out combinations using 3 or if you are feeling especially saucy 4 spheres at a time... lather rinse repeat.

Should spend a little time talking about Dissidia, as I did finish the last story part... The last few guys in Inward Chaos were... easier than I expected... seriously. Even Chaos... is really just Chaos... oh, I did use some save states on him... but I think I could've beaten him eventually without them... just would've taken longer. So, now I'm starting my trek to finish the rest of the accomplishments... I'm starting with the Lunar Whale ones since I'll need the accessories from them to make a good amount of the rest of the gear anyway, and a long save stated run through here is a lot quicker than repeatedly running Time attack for Megalixirs... I've done that already anyway.

Didn't have time this morning to put together the X-2 Current setup, so I'll get to that tonight. Also on the agenda for today... finishing up the aforementioned Lunar Whale run... and in Final Fantasy X-2, probably going through most of the plot stuff in Chapter 3... when we get to the end of Chapter 3 I WILL be setting up my Creature Creator team and start to do some serious work in getting through the cups.

  1. Haha, yeah I saw that in the current setup, after posting the comment of course! But I have a follow up that I hope you didn't miss as well. Did you win the Garment Grids you can get during the sphere break tournament? Specifically the White Signet GG from the lady with a dog, and more importantly the Treasure Hunt GG from Shinra. Treasure Hunt gives you Mug, which is good in itself for stealing and attacking at once, naturally, but the real benefit is you can attack and gain AP too! The normal attack command doesn't grant AP when you use it, while pretty much any other action that benefits your party does. Mug allows you to attack normally while also gaining AP (and stealing too). This dramatically speeds up battles and ability learning for the rest of the game.

It's also good for creatures so you don't have to use the Thief DSP to Mug if you'd rather have something else.
