Status + Notes

So, actually have a bunch to say about the actual game today. First, I would not suggest playing this game until after you've played... at least Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy IV. There's a lot of... thinly veiled references to characters and places in these two games at least. So, I'd assume you'd want to at least get these references and not have them fly over your head. Also, I was thinking today, that this game has elves... and I was trying to think of which other Final Fantasy games have elves. The only one that comes to mind is Final Fantasy I. Kind of interesting.

Now to actual gameplay... I knew eventually I'd have some complaints... and I have some minor ones. The grinding. This game kind of forces you to grind. Alot. This wouldn't be so bad, except the rate at which you gain experience levels and the rate at which you gain job levels is a bit off. Either that or the game doesn't expect you to level one job up to 20 asap. But basically, if you grind out all the armor you need, you're going to be overlevelled for the end of the subchapter which is a shame because the boss battles still are the best thing about this game. So well designed.

So, for today, I might actually finish Chapter 2! Outside chance at best maybe, but we'll see.
