Where I Currently Am: Rocket Town
Stuff Did Today: Found Cloud in Mideel lost in himself... Recovered some Huge Materia from Corel and Fort Condor. Had Tifa help Cloud regain himself and discovered his true identity. Infiltrated the Junon underwater Reactor and recovered Huge Materia from there as well, also I stole a submarine. Then I went to do some sidequests... recovered the Key to Sector 5 of Midgar and got Tifa's Premium Heart and the Sneak Glove, went to Nibelheim and played the piano to get Final Heaven. Learned some more of Vincent's backstory behind a waterfall where I discovered Lucrecia, Sephiroth's mother... and looted a crashed Gelnika plane under the water

Status & Notes:

So... LOT of play time today... really kind of sneaking up on the end of this game. I've already taken care of... most of the sidequests. Though the ones I have left are time consuming... you can see I've added a chocobo section so you can track my progress through here... that'll be fun. Anyway, let's take some time to give some of the final plot developments... and try to explainwho Cloud actually is.

Cloud is actually NOT a failed Sephiroth Clone. Cloud was a real person who was in fact in Nibelheim with Tifa, though not really close friends. He left to join SOLDIER, to impress Tifa, but was found to be too weak. He was infused with Jenova cells as part of the process of joining SOLDIER. In the events at Nibelheim, he replaced Zack with himself, in reality he was the guard standing outside the reactor. After Sephiroth kills Zack, Cloud goes into the reactor and stabs Sephiroth in the back, then follows him and throws him off of a bridge on the reactor killing him.

So, there... I think that clears everything up...

One comment I want to make about this game, is the pacing. It is so odd. I mean, the first disc is so long, where you get bits of plot here and there, but really it's mostly play time and some plot development. Then you get to Disc 2, which if you were to stay on the main quest is incredibly short, but FILLED with plot details. Yes, I realize this is because they wanted to put Aeris's death at the end of Disc 1. But seriously, I think they could've stretched some things out, and done it differently. Not to say that any of it is bad... but, it was some interesting choices made here...

So, anyway, today's goals... well, we're going to continue with the Chocobo Breeding... its off to the races... I'd like to have my Green and Blue chocobos all set up today. I think that's realistic... of course maybe I'll play 4 1/2 hours again and be done with the whole thing... we'll just see how it goes...
