I think I can now consider myself somewhat of a master on Edward's Challenge Dungeon... and I never want to see it again. Yikes... I will say its fairly well designed... I just wish there was something to do other than keep my battle on auto... oh well.

Back to Kain's Tale... which apparently is really really short... I mean, sure, all the battles are a joke coming into the tale near level cap, but still, one hour and I'm all done... ah well. Now on to one of the harder challenge dungeons in the game... and thankfully there's no gimmick or anything... just good old dungeon crawling and boss killing.

My goal for today is to do most of my challenge dungeon runs... While I'd love to finish it all up, it is a longer dungeon and so doing all the runs in one day may be a bit optimistic. We will see.

Spoiler Alert... Sarcastic Plot Developments of the Day:

Ceodore and Hoodie make it to Kaipo and Hoodie decides he needs a rest. After all, Damcyan isn't in imminent danger or anything... so after a good night's sleep its time to go through the Underground Waterway... again... of course by now we make it through with our eyes closed, and get to the save point where Hoodie once again decides he needs to rest. Seriously, he needs more rest than a pack a day smoker... Anyway, afterwards we get to the waterfall, where Hoodie asks Ceodore, "ARE YOU A MAN?!?!?, ARE YOU 40?!??" He may not be, but Ceodore jumps down the waterfall anyway. And we get to the bottom where YET ANOTHER big octopus is waiting for us. How big is this thing's family... I'd like to see the family tree... yikes.

Meanwhile, Kain, goes to Damcyan and is like gimme your crystal. Edward says nope, and pulls out a present for Kain. Isn't that thoughtful? Edward then tells Kain that he has set him up the bomb. Many bombs in fact... flying ones. After all, Edward knows that for Great Justice we must move Every Zig. However, Kain does not believe that "Fire Bad!!!" So he charges in and kicks Edward's unmanly rear anyway. Then he decides to have his way with Rosa.

So, we step outside the dungeon, and the Red Wings are just leaving... so, I'm assuming that Kain spent two days having his way with Rosa before leaving on the airship. Sometimes its better not to think about timelines in games... We get to Damcyan, and the Red Wings are getting fired on... by the Enterprise... hey who knew the thing had weapons. Doesn't stop them from flying back to Baron, but, ya know... Anyway...

So, Cid flies us back to Baron and we enter and catch up with Kain before we get to the throne room... where Rosa finally gives us the plot twist we've waited 8 chapters for... Hoodie is Kain!!!! But, Kain is Kain. Well, remember the shattered room in Mt. Ordeals.. Apparently, Kain got to have a trial too... except his didn't go so well, and Evil Kain was released into the world... and Evil Kain is Kain, meanwhile Good Kain went Emo and Belicheckian... So, its time to fight again. Except this time, we've gone through challenge dungeons and levelled up way more than we should... so Evil Kain goes down.

Kain accepts his dark side, which apparently allows him to release his full power, and transform his armor... and gives him a weird crown... that, or the voice of Cecil's dead father had something to do with it... in any event he is now a Holy Dragoon... which is alot like a regular dragoon with more Holy. And with that END OF CHAPTER!!!!
