Status + Notes:

So, remember how I said anything in Yang's Tale would be a bonus? Well... SUPER BONUS!!! Apparently Yang's Tale is pretty short. Oh well, couple of new areas... nothing special. Interested to start going through his challenge dungeon.

Speaking of Challenge dungeons by the way, i was amazed at how much less of a challenge Rydia's was after going through it the first time... I mean yes, I was basically at level cap by my 3rd time through but still.

I'd love to be able to finish Yang's challenge dungeon by the end of the day, but that might be asking a bit much, we'll see.

Spoiler Alert... Sarcastic Plot Developments of the Day:

Meanwhile, in the Kingdom of Fabul, Yang had a baby. Instead of raising it, he feels this is the absolute perfect time to TRAIN!!!! 18 years later, his daughter runs away from home to go check out a meteor, because she feels her dad would not include her in the investigation. I'm sensing some daddy issues... So, after climbing the mountain and finding his daughter Ursula he decides to send her home. After all, he can take care of things because HE'S A MAN!!! HE'S 40!!!! Also, he's mad she travelled through the wilderness alone. However, Ursula points out that going home would require travelling through the wilderness alone again... Having been 1-upped, Yang agrees to allow Ursula to come along, which is good, because we need a healer in this Krillin Sausage fest of a party we have going.

So, we find the crater which is smoking...  and find nothing really of interest...but a monk grave... So after that exciting bit, we look at the sky and see the Red Wings heading towards Fabul. So, we race back to the castle, and we have an 18-year flashback! First of all, Yang will handle this diplomatic crisis just by himself... and 2 Krillins... because HE'S A MAN!!! HE'S 40!!!! The diplomatic solution quickly folds, so we face... the EXACT SAME MONSTER GAUNTLET that we faced in FF IV. Eerie... So we get to the Throne Room where we find out that Ursula and Shiela have not evacuated as we were led to believe. We then retreat to the Crystal Room where Kain comes in and fights with us, and after we beat him up some, he turns into a hand and takes the crystal anyway while we just stare at it...Well, no, he jumps over everyone and takes it, but whats the difference.

So, back to diplomacy, we're going to Baron...and we're on a boat! But before we leave, Sheila tells us if anything happens to Ursula she's going to make Yang pay with something worse than a frying pan... I cringe to think of that bedroom dynamic... So, we're sailing, we're sailing, hey there's Edward, wave, wave, wave... let's race, AHH!!! Random monster attack!!! So, yeah, the ship is all busted, so we have to sail to the Adamant Isles... which even though was there in the first game, is apparently an unexplored tropical island... fun fact! Yang goes to get some palm oil to fuel the ship by himself because... nevermind... Ursula decides to head out on her own... with Krillins... a while later. They go through the forest, and have flashbacks of Ursula's youth... showing scenes of Yang's method of destroying large rocks... which couldn't possibly have any uses in the near future...

GIANT ROCK TURTLE!!!! Our attacks are completely ineffective until Ursula uses her secret Tenketsu technique, after which our attacks are completely effective. Yang magically has found us and joins in the fight, and that night they dine on turtle soup... giant rock turtle soup. So, they grab some palm oil... carrying it back in a coconut I guess... which Yang probably splits open by finding its weak point... because as we all know... in JRPGs everything has a weakpoint... and we navigate through the mazy jungle back to the ship and head off for Baron...

Sailing... sailing... saili.. GIANT FOREBODING WHIRLPOOL, END OF CHAPTER!!!

TO BE CONTINUED!!!
